As a middle eastern restaurant, lamb is consistently one of our most popular menu selections. The lamb kabob (marinated in cumin, pepper, and olive oil) pairs wonderfully with a really dark red wine, such as a red Zinfandel or Shiraz.
A nice red wine also nicely complements the savory tastes of our maldoum (an eggplant and meat dish), our shish kabob (Angus steak chunks, delicious with a Cabernet Sauvingon), and the Greek salad (with a creamy feta dressing). Unsure of which red wine to bring? As two of the most versatile wines to pair, a Pinot Noir or Chianti plays nicely with various spices and flavors and is a safe BYOB bet!
Are you bringing white wine to Markos? We really recommend it with our Markos Mezze, a Mediterranean platter of grilled chicken, gyro, feta cheese chunks, fried shrimp, calamari,spanakopita, kalamata olives, roasted red pepper humus, tzatziki, & pita.
One of our most popular kabobs, the Jaj Kabob (chicken marinated in Shwerma spices), pairs very well with a Chardonnay or a Sauvingon blanc.
Got beer? Ah, there are so many options...
We recommend our very popular House Curry, a medium-spicy/hot tomato curry served vegan-style or with chicken over rice.
Beer also goes fabulously with our popular Caribbean Kabob, chicken marinated in jerk spices, grilled to perfection, & finished with an island sauce. We love this dish with a yummy, clean Mexican beer like Pacifico.
We really enjoy a falafel wrap (any variety, with a little bit of hot sauce) and a great glass of beer. Try the gyro-falafel combo or the veggie falafel with a glass of Hefeweizen!
